Hospital

Last week Michael got really ill and we finally ended up in the emergency room Wednesday morning. After an ambulance ride from the student health center to the hospital Michael got his appendix out that afternoon. Sweet Lorraine watched June all day so that Michael didn’t have to be alone. After the surgery Michael’s mom came down and helped watch June, which was lucky because Michael ended up being in the hospital until Sunday. During all this June’s first tooth came through. It made for some long days and long nights. We are happy to all be home.

Here is a picture Lorraine sent me of June with Vincent. At least someone had some fun!

Visits and such

Kelsea came to visit us for the weekend. It was lots of fun to hang out with her. June loves her aunt Kelsea. We went to the Griddle for breakfast and it was my first time there. I can't believe it took me this long to try it out. It was delicious. While we ate I had June sit in her stroller. Usually this makes her very antsy, but she sweetly stared at the man right next to us the whole time. He would occasionally smile at her or talk to her, but he mostly spoke in another language to his friend. At the end of our meal he asked me how old she was. When I told him that she really liked him and thanks for letting her stare at you all through your breakfast he said "Her first romance."

Also, last week I was feeding June some green beans with oatmeal since she won't eat the green beans plain. She started gagging and I thought she was choking so I slapped her back. She seemed to be okay so I kept feeding her. She took a few more bites and it happened again. This continued until I realized that she was not choking but actually gagging on her green beans.

June also started crawling last week. She has been army crawling for awhile and taking a few crawls with her stomach off of the ground, but crawling finally clicked for her. She loves being able to get around fast. I started crying the moment I realized she was actually crawling. Embarrassing! It was funny because Michael came home that day and had the same realization that she was crawling.

FIDM

Lisa, Gretta, Anne, Lucy, June and I went to check out FIDM's store and walk around downtown. We also got to check out Michael Levine's. It was a sunny, beautiful day and fun to catch up with old friends.

For years my cousins, the Jensens, used to always tell me that they thought I would like their friend Anne. When I went to college Anne and I ended up living in the same dorm. We became great friends. I know Lisa through Anne and Lisa and I became better friends after she moved out to LA after college. They both grew up in Irvine with my cousins. It is fun to all be in LA.

Rocky and June

My cousins Seth and Tim came over one night and Kelsea took these two pictures of June and Rocky (Seth's kid). We made Rocky hold June even though he told us he didn't like holding babies. We were trying to give him some practice for the new baby coming to his house in a month.

Aunts

June is missing her Aunties and all the attention they gave her over the holiday. She is such a smiley baby. Even when she is sick or tired she can't help but smile . . . particularly when you sing the Lion King song to her Modern Family style.

She is army crawling all over the place. Recently she has started to be very interested in men. She was obsessed with my dad and Evan when we were home with my parents. She makes friends wherever we go. She just gives people the stare down until they look at her. She has not hit a shy phase yet. We love our little June
